Photographer Kira Stein fashioned this styled session to illustrate a stunning alternative to eloping on a clear summer day. Her aim was to inspire couples to consider a winter wonderland, to forego champagne for hot cocoa! Kira loves the stillness - the tranquility and intimacy - that comes with exchanging vows in a blanket of snow. "I would love to shoot more winter weddings!" she says.
What you cannot tell from this flawless session is just how cold Kira and her models were, shooting in five-minute increments at times to combat the freezing temperatures. Kira says it was worth every minute, however, and she was inspired by the serenity and isolation of the forest. Strangers they encountered throughout the shoot offered their congratulations and some even offered their help. "...they thought we had a winter car accident on their wedding day!" Kira laughs.
Who else is feeling inspired to plan a winter elopement?

"...these two where so tough and felt free in front of the camera; so full of love, and you really could feel the trust they gave each other!"
